I called
Papa John's for a pizza to be charged a
surcharge for delivery. Wow what a way to rip the consumer off.....and nothing like taking advantage of the higher
gas prices. These "surcharges" aren't passed to the drivers, so the chain is getting $2 PER DELIVERY NOW gratuity as a result of the bad economy. Does
Papa John's fill the driver's tanks? They aren't giving this money to the drivers so I really resent being charged a FEE to
order pizza. What nerve also...with all the other pzza places around,
Papa John's ranks low on the list anyway. Give your business to a mom and
pop shop who will deliver a quality pizza.

You all know Mr PPJ needs more money to buy more expensive cars and a standard of living, Does he plan on taking it all with him ? Drivers are fighting over one delivery for a small tip. I guess when you have all that money in the bank , you can forget about the little guys trying to make rent a dollar at a time.

I'm sorry It affects the drivers tips, but they should rise up and complain because that fee is not helping anybody.

And another thing. The more affluent the neighborhood, the lower the tips. Those most able to tip seem to offer the least, if anything at all, and those living closer to poverty level tip better. It's true. So it isn't reflective of service, it is reflective of you being a tightwad. Thank you very much, I do appreciate it, y'all have a nice evening.

I am a PJ driver, I receive a portion of the delivery charge per delivery for gas expenses. The company basically makes a tip before I do, and does not have to pay me minimum wage per hour because after all, I make tips (tip credit). Maybe I do, maybe I don't. The delivery charge is just a way to offset costs while keeping the food price "low". While it may seem unnecessary to tip after paying the $2 delivery charge, the driver did just drive their car and gas to bring you hot food to your door. Either don't order delivery, or please tip. It's the decent thing to do. And btw, I don't want your dog licking my legs, even though you think it's okay because after all, the dog "won't bite". And don't give your kid the money, kids figure out in between your hand the driver's hand at the door where that extra tip money should go. Yes, your kid will keep the money, happens all the time.
